Why here? Quite simply: At Banana Bikes, you can easily borrow a bike and start cycling right away. That’s why our GPX files also begin at this location. The good news: Our navigation won’t be offended if you start somewhere else. 😉 You can begin or end the tour at any point you like. Can I go inside Schloss Eggenberg or Kunsthaus, or is the tour only outside?+
The tour takes you to the sights, but admission is not included. You are warmly invited to take a break along the way and go in yourself — especially at Schloss Eggenberg, it is worth it, as the castle park is a must-see anyway.
Are the admissions to the sights included in the price?+
No, the entrance fees are not included in the tour. You decide for yourself where you want to stay longer and go in.
In which languages is the tour available?+
The audio guide is available to you in 10 languages: German, English, Polish, Italian, Hungarian, Dutch, Czech, Croatian, French, and Slovenian.
How long does the tour last?+
Expect to spend around 2.5 to 3 hours for the entire route (12.6 km) — depending on how often and how long you linger at each stop.
Do I need my own bicycle or can I borrow one?+
You can bring your own bike or rent one from our rental partner Banana Bikes. Our guided tours start and end directly at Banana Bikes. Simply contact Jürgen from Banana Bikes in advance or reserve online at https://bananabikes.at.
How does navigation work during the tour?+
After the purchase, the BikeGraz app navigates you via GPS directly on your phone from stop to stop and tells you exciting stories about the individual sights through an audio guide. You only need your smartphone, and the tour works best with mobile data while on the go.
Is the tour also available offline?+
Yes — before you set off, you can download the complete tour to your phone using the "Karte herunterladen" button (map section, route, and audio guide). After that, GPS navigation and all audio narrations will work without an internet connection or mobile data while on the go. You only need an internet connection for this one-time download at the beginning. If an audio file cannot be loaded for some reason, the text will be read to you by your phone's text-to-speech feature, so you won't miss any story.
What if I get lost?+
Then we will charge for the additional attractions. No! Seriously. As soon as you deviate from the route, it will be displayed on the screen with a red frame. A signal tone will sound, and you should be able to return to the route.
